Sneakerheads and Jordan Brand alike hold the Air Jordan 11 in the highest esteem, since the house that Michael Jordan established releases a throwback version of the shoe every holiday season. For Holiday 2023, the highly sought-after Air Jordan 11 Retro DMP will be recognized with the “Gratitude” colorway, after previous years’ introduction of new hues like “Jubilee,” which commemorated the model’s 25th anniversary.
Taking design cues from the “Concord” colorway, this version ditches the Cordura mesh for a leather upper and stays true to the patent leather silhouette. A shiny gold Jumpman insignia will grace the upper panel of the upcoming Jordan 11 Gratitude, which will mirror the original pair of DMPs from 2006. This defies early reports. In keeping with the originals, the 11 from 2023 will have the number “23” printed in gold on the heel, close to the collar, just like the originals.
Returning to the rest of the Jordan 11 Gratitude’s construction, the genuine high-cut black patent leather encircles the toebox and ends at the heel, with white leather straps serving to secure the lace set. You can see Jordan branding on the tongue center, with a black nylon stripe and the Jumpman logo in gold. The text “Jumpman Jordan” runs horizontally around the shoe. The shoe features a white Phylon midsole and a semi-translucent transparent rubber outsole beneath the foot. The tongue patch is another new feature of the 2023 Air Jordan 11 Retro Gratitude. The new lettering in AJ 11 reads: “Quality Basketball Product Created In Gratitude By The Greatest Player Ever,” with “Thank You” inscribed on the sides. The Air Jordan 11 Retro DMP, a tribute to his Airness, is now complete.
Nike, SNKRS, and some Jordan Brand stores will stock the Air Jordan 11 Retro Gratitude when they restock them on December 9, 2023. The suggested retail price for men’s pairs is $230, and they come in full-family sizes. The next Jordan 11 Gratitude will retail for $230, which is just $65 less than the original 2006 Defining Moments Pack, which included the Jordan 11 and Jordan 6 in unique packaging. Comparing the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Gratitude” from 2006 to 2023, one notable difference is the upper material. The 2023 model replaces the 2006 model’s Cordura mesh with high-quality tumbled leather.
The 2006 pair, with a lower cut, featured patent leather. The 2023 iteration will have a thicker cut, staying faithful to the original Air Jordan 11. TONGUE PATCH: In the original AJ 11 DMP, the inside tongue patch reads “Quality Basketball Products Inspired By The Greatest Player Ever.” “Quality Basketball Product Created In Gratitude By The Greatest Player Ever,” reads the 2023 edition, which also includes the words “Thank You” scrawled down the sides.
A fully translucent outsole completed the original design of the 2006 Air Jordan 11 Retro DMP. The Retro Gratitude Air Jordan 11 from 2023 will have a gum outsole that is see-through.
In contrast to the 2006 Air Jordan 11 Retro DMP’s one-size-fits-all design, the 2023 iteration is available in a broad range of sizes, from men’s all the way down to infants.
